Student Appearance Policy Yinghua Academy students are expected to be in uniform on a daily basis (except on designated days). In the first instance of an out of uniform infraction, a notice will be sent home. The second instance (or a severe infraction) will result in a call to a parent requesting the parent bring the uniform to school. It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that the student adhere to this policy.YINGHUA LOGO AND WHERE TO PURCHASE UNIFORMS: Logos other than the Yinghua Academy logo are not acceptable on any clothing. Yinghua Academy logo clothing may be purchased through several companies: including Dennis Uniforms in Oakdale (also online at http://www.dennisuniform.com with the school code MNOOYA) and Lands’ End (online at http://www.landsend.com/school with the school code 90020379). TOPS: Students may wear any style light blue shirt or blouse (related colors such as aqua and teal are not acceptable). Shirts with the Yinghua Academy Logo are preferred, but not required. In the colder months, students may also wear white or black cardigans, sweaters, sweatshirts or sweater vests (any shirt worn under these additions, must still be light blue). BOTTOMS: Students may wear any style black pants, shorts or skirts. Shorts and skirts can be no shorter than the width of the child’s hand above the knee. Black jumper style dresses are also acceptable, if work with a light blue shirt underneath. Clothing must fit: no excessive baggy clothing and no extremely tight clothing. SOCKS, SHOES, and OTHER ACCESSORIES: Socks and tights must be white, black or light blue. Shoes can be any color or style, but must be close-toed. On gym days, students must either wear or bring gym shoes (tennis shoes). Gym shoes can be kept at school. Other accessories such as jewelry etc are fine if they are not a distraction. However, if the child treats the accessories like a toy (i.e. playing with it or taking on and off); the student will be asked to put the accessory in his/her backpack. WINTER WEATHER UNIFORMS: Please help your child to be dressed according to the weather conditions. Outdoor time is part of the daily routine and will take place unless it is dangerously stormy or the temperature is below zero with wind-chill.
