Greetings from the Yinghua Academy Community Association (YACA)!

YACA is the parent group of Yinghua Academy. All parents of Yinghua students are "general members" of YACA. We are led by a board consisting of nine elected members, which meets monthly. Additionally, General Membership meetings are held approximately three times during the school year.

Our mission is to support the mission of Yinghua Academy, its students, teachers and staff by providing volunteers, fundraising and assistance in cooperation with the Director and School Board.

YACA is the driving force behind many things that happen at our school. Building community among Yinghua families, fundraising for our students and parent education are all things that fall under the YACA umbrella. Some specific examples of what we do are organizing events such as the Back-To-School picnic, monthly parent coffees at the school, and the fall Kite Festival. Our fundraising projects, such as the Blue Sky Guide and the annual Red Envelope Campaign, largely support the Artistic and Academic Partnerships at Yinghua, which for 2009/2010 include programs such as the “Art Adventure” from the Minneapolis Institute of Art, residencies with the Science Museum of Minnesota, the Children’s Theater Company, the Northern Clay Center, and Young Audiences/COMPASS artists in the literary arts. YACA also contributes to the support of the ever-expanding library at Yinghua as well as the growth of our music program by purchasing musical instruments for the 2009/2010 school year.

Now in its 4th year, Yinghua Academy continues to thrive with a student body of 315 students, committed and involved families, and superior leadership by the staff, administration and board. We are proud to be part of Yinghua Academy and we look forward to getting to know you and encourage you to get involved with YACA by volunteering you time and talents.
