We first opened our doors in 1991 in the exact strip mall we are located in today. First beginning as a take out and buffet style restaurant that slowly evolved as the customers evolved.
In our humble beginnings here in Minnesota, Mr. Wong sought out to educate others on authentic Hong Kong cuisine and how to differentiate himself from the other Chinese restaurants that were established here at the time.
This was something he knew would take time so he began to earn their trust in his flavors beginning with simple Americanized dishes before eventually taking his restaurant to the next level and introducing high end seafood, handmade Dim Sum and Cantonese vegetables to his audience.
We started off as a very small take-out restaurant that could barely seat 40 people to where we are today with a capacity of over 100 with live fish tanks, private party rooms and a full bar.
Mandarin Kitchen also remains as one of the few Chinese restaurants with a true classically trained Dim Sum Sifu in house.
For this reason all of our Dim Sum is handmade, never ordered or frozen. You can truly taste the difference and that is what has brought us all our success and acclaim.
